Terrarium Workshop with Busy Bees Preschool
For this session, things felt a little different from our usual workshops. Instead of our typical small group of two to four kids, we welcomed 27 kindergarten students from Busy Bee along with four of their teachers to Naug Just Plants, Studio Southkey.
The children, aged five to six, filled the space with a kind of excitement that was impossible to miss. The moment they stepped into the shop, their eyes widened in amazement taking in the tiny worlds within glass.

Despite their excitement, they listened attentively to both our instructors and their teachers. While a few were more expressive, eagerly responding to questions, most remained quiet and shy, observing closely and taking everything in at their own pace.

Of course, with children, a little mess is part of the experience.
But it was clear that it wasn’t from carelessness, it was simply because the process itself can be challenging, even for adults. And for children this young, it required even more patience and effort.
By the end of the workshop, each terrarium reflected not just their effort, but their curiosity and willingness to try something new. And in a way, their effort showed up beyond the terrariums themselves.
The students managed to design their Fun Terrarium that include:
- LECA, sphagnum moss, mixed of live mosses & figurines
- Cylinder (12CM x 6.5CM) with NAUG Acrylic lid
- Tools
- Care guide card & workshop brochure
- On-site guidance

It was in the mess left on the tables, the soil on their hands and even slightly messy hair from being so focused on what they were doing.

More than anything, the session was a reminder that creativity doesn’t depend on age. Even the smallest hands can create something meaningful, given the chance.
We’re truly grateful to have hosted such a lively group, and we hope this experience becomes a small but happy memory for each of them.
