Terrarium Workshop: A Family That Plants Together

Terrarium Workshop: A Family That Plants Together

Workshops always carry their own kind of energy, but this session felt especially warm with a family coming together to create their own terrariums side by side. It wasn’t just about building glass gardens; it was about shared moments, small decisions and discovering something new together.

Most of them were already plant enthusiasts, each with their own experience caring for greenery. But for a few couples, this was their first time exploring terrariums.

What stood out was how quickly curiosity turned into appreciation especially when they realized how low-maintenance terrariums can be compared to traditional potted plants. No daily watering routines, no constant repositioning, just a balanced, self-sustaining ecosystem that fits seamlessly into their lifestyle.

One of the most memorable moments came down to a simple question:

“Should I add driftwood?”

What followed was a mini group discussion where everyone leaning in, giving opinions, imagining how it would change the overall look. It’s these little interactions that make the experience more than just a workshop.

In the end, it wasn’t just one person building a terrarium but a shared creative process, shaped by multiple perspectives.

By the end of the session, each terrarium reflected not just individual styles, but also the collective experience of creating them together. Some leaned towards lush and detailed, others kept it minimal but all carried a sense of ownership and connection.

Workshops like this remind us that terrarium-making isn’t just about plants. It’s about slowing down, making choices and enjoying the process especially when shared with the people around you.

We’re grateful to have hosted such a lovely group and we hope each terrarium continues to grow as part of their space and their memories.
